EUCHARIST
"At the Last Supper, on the night he was betrayed, our Savior instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood. This he did in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross throughout the ages until he should come again, and so to entrust to his beloved Spouse, the Church, a memorial of his death and resurrection: a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a Paschal banquet 'in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.'" “The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." - Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraphs 1323-1324

SACRAMENT PREPARATION
CHILDREN/TEENS (1ST-12TH GRADE)
-
Sacrament Preparation for 1st Reconciliation and 1st Holy Communion is a 2-year journey for baptized children between 1st-11th grade. Our goal during these two years of preparation is to assist families in teaching the importance of each Sacrament and how it applies to our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Year 1 (Year of Inquiry): This first year consists of regular Faith Formation classes and allows students to build a foundation of faith formation.
Year 2: During students’ second year of Sacrament Preparation, they will attend monthly preparation meetings with families in addition to regular Faith Formation classes. By the end of the year, students will receive their 1st Reconciliation and 1st Holy Eucharist!
-
Year 1 of Sacrament Preparation: Regular Faith Formation classes
Year 2 of Sacrament Preparation: Preparation meetings are on the first Sunday of the month and run from October-April.

O.C.I.A. (AGES 19+)
-
Are you, or someone you know, interested in joining the Catholic Church? We, as the Catholic Community of St. Timothy are ready to accompany you on your journey of faith. The process for adults joining the Church is known as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (O.C.I.A.).
-
O.C.I.A. is for…
An unbaptized person who follows a process to help them grow in awareness to God’s call to conversion, as well as ways to respond to that call by receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
OR
People who have been baptized in another Christian church, from a faith tradition other than the Catholic faith, who are seeking full communion with the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
OR
Those who were baptized in the Catholic Church who have not received formation in the Catholic faith. These adults will be prepared to celebrate the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
-
Inquiry: Inquiry sessions are an opportunity for you to ask questions; there is no expectation that you will join the O.C.I.A. Inquiry is an honest, open environment without judgment to help you find answers and discern your readiness to proceed into the O.C.I.A. Inquiry occurs on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of every month after the 9AM Mass in the Front Office conference room. All are welcome!
Dismissal: This happens every week during the Sunday 9AM Mass. O.C.I.A. catechumens (the unbaptized) attend the first part of Mass and are then led to another area to study the Scripture readings further.
Catechesis: You, your parish mentor, and your fellow participants in the O.C.I.A. will be learning about the Catholic faith through our weekly Catholicism 101 series on Sundays after the 9AM Mass to help you have faith-centered conversations and experiences to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ.
